A Prickly Paradise and Plant Wonderland
For plant lovers, enthusiasts, and collectors, there’s a date you absolutely don’t want to miss!
On Saturday, May 24th, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 3PM The Cactus & Succulent Society of NSW will hold their Autumn Show & Sale for 2025 at Hawkesbury Pavilion at the Hawkesbury Showground.
The Autumn Show and Sale is one the Society’s most exciting plant events of the year, and it’s set to be a prickle-packed day of discovery, learning, and, of course, shopping for all things cactus and succulent! The event is brimming with the most unique, exotic, and occasionally bizarre plants that will make even the most hardened concrete lover pause and appreciate the wonders of nature. It’s the perfect gathering for plant lovers to explore, learn and indulge their green-thumbed passions.
You’ll find towering cacti that look like something straight out of a desert landscape to tiny succulents so intricately formed, you'd swear they were crafted by an artist's hand, the show floor will be a botanical wonderland. Visitors will be able to marvel at rare varieties of Euphorbias, Aloe Vera, and mighty Agave plants, lush jade succulents to colourful, blossoming cactus blooms and more. Expect the unicorns that will catch the eye of every enthusiast from beginners to seasoned experts, the rarities from far and wide, those species that don’t show up in your local garden centre or local nurseries.
What makes this show even more exciting is the opportunity to level up your plant game. Whether you're a seasoned cactus connoisseur or a succulent newbie, you’ll find workshops and expert talks designed to expand your knowledge. Ever wondered about the secret to the perfect cactus soil mix? Or how to propagate those stunning succulents? You’re in luck! There will be plenty of expert advice on offer. From plant care tips to talks on the best ways to grow your collection, these sessions will help you unlock the mysteries of the plant world. And if you’re looking for insider knowledge, don’t hesitate to ask questions—the experts are more than happy to share their years of experience with the eager crowd.
Are you already a proud plant parent? How about showing off your own? That’s right—if you’ve got a prized cactus or succulent in your collection, the Autumn Show is the perfect place to enter it into the competition. It’s like the beauty pageant of the plant world—only the contestants have spikes, leaves, and stunning blooms. It’s the perfect opportunity to bond over your shared love for all things spiky and succulent, while expanding your network of fellow plant lovers. Who knows? You might just discover your next plant swap buddy or someone to team up with for future plant adventures!
Admission is $7 pre-purchased online or $10 at the door. Children under 16 free, no pets admitted.
