Vale of Avoca Lookout, Grose Vale
Located at end of Cabbage Tree Road, Grose Vale this stunning, unfenced lookout gives spectacular views into the Grose River Wilderness. The final couple of kilometres are on dirt road which can be slippery after rain.
What we like about it - wilderness views, sandstone outcrops, a great spot to get a sunset picture, lots of birds and other wildlife, you feel a million miles away from the city

Hawkesbury Lookout, Hawkesbury Heights
From Richmond turn into Springwood Road at Agnes Banks and follow the road for 10km. After some tight bends the lookout is on the left. There is usually plenty of space to pull over and park and toilets are located on the the other side of the road.
What we like about it - great spot to see the lights of Sydney at night, fantastic views of Penrith Lakes, a good spot to stop and stretch your legs if you are heading up towards Katoomba from the Hawkesbury

Bellbird Lookout, Kurrajong Heights
Located 7km west of Kurmond on Bells Line of Road this lookout at 500 metres above sea level gives extensive views over the Hawkesbury Valley and the Sydney basin. The lookout is easier to access if you are heading east (or down the hill) along Bells Line of Road. Toilets available.
What we like about it - incredible vistas to the east, south and north, great spot for sunrises, commanding position high above the valley, listen carefully for the chiming calls of the bellbirds

Streetons Lookout, Freemans Reach
Located on the corner of Cliff Road and the Terrace this lookout sits high above a sweeping bend of the Hawkesbury River. It's named after the landscape artist Arthur Streeton who painted in the area in the late 1800's. His famous 'Purple Noon Transparent Might' was painted here using a dead sapling for an easel.
What we like about it - this is quintessential Hawkesbury country - rivers, mountains, lowlands, farming, polo and bush, great spot to capture the sunset or the winter fogs that settle over the lowlands, peaceful with birdlife

Hawkins Lookout, Wisemans Ferry
Located on the left hand side of the Old Northern Road, 8km past Maroota Public School. It's well signposted and gives great views to the village of Wisemans Ferry, Webbs Creek Ferry and the Hawkesbury River.
What we like about it - beautiful elevated viewing platform, watching the vehicle ferries chugging across the river, accessible with good parking, nice spot for sunsets
